Description
Qizini, a Dutch manufacturer of bakery and sandwich products under the Bakery Kitchen Group, has announced the closure of its production facility in Losser, resulting in approximately 100 job losses. The affected site specialises in sandwich production and is located in the Twente region of the province of Overijssel.
The closure, planned for March 2026, is attributed to overcapacity within the Bakery Kitchen Group. Management has stated that the decision aims to streamline operations, balance production more efficiently, and create conditions for long-term growth and investment.
Although a formal social plan is being drafted and employee support is promised, FNV union representatives have raised concerns over the rapid pace of restructuring and the impact on older workers who may face difficulties in finding new employment. The Bakery Kitchen Group operates multiple food production sites across the Netherlands.
