Description
As announced on 15 November 2025, the Finnish network equipment manufacturer Nokia plans to cut 300 jobs in Germany. Additionally, Nokia announced to close its Munich site by 2030 affecting and additional 500 jobs.
Nokia states that the job cuts are intended to secure long-term competitiveness and to dedicate financial resources to strategic locations in Germany. IG Metall criticises the plans and announced to contest the decision.
The 300 job cuts announced are part of a restructuring plan published in 2023, under which up to 14,000 jobs could be cut worldwide. This plan was also documented in the ERM databaseNokia 2023 - WO. Nokia employs around 2,500 people in Germany.
