Description

ZF Passive Safety Systems, a German automotive components manufacturer based in Częstochowa, Poland, will reduce its workforce by 225 employees (7% of staff) in the first half of 2026. The restructuring affects two units, production and internal transport (161 jobs) and support departments (64 jobs).

The decision, driven by the need to optimise operations, will be implemented between January and June 2026, with some contracts possibly extended until September. A recent related restructuring at ZF in Częstochowa involved the reduction of 110 positions at the company’s Electronics Engineering Centre, implemented between August 2024 and the end of 2025, see: ZF 2025 – PL.

Planned measures include standard notice procedures and consultations with trade unions and the Works Council to mitigate social impact.

Union representatives are currently negotiating the terms of the layoffs.

ZF Passive Safety Systems, a part of the global ZF Group, manufactures seatbelts and airbags in Częstochowa and has been operating in Poland since the 1990s.
