Description

Belgian glass manufacturer Soliver will close all its Belgian operations by 30 June 2025. In total, 1,200 workers, including temporary staff, will lose their jobs.

The shutdowns come in the wake of AGP Group’s ongoing financial problems and unsuccessful attempts at restructuring. The move was formally confirmed at an extraordinary works council meeting in mid-June 2025. While only the Rumbeke site was initially slated for closure, the pull-out of the only prospective buyer, X-Glass, means that the Evergem and Zwijnaarde facilities will also cease operations.

Soliver was founded in 1937 and acquired by the Peruvian AGP Group in 2018.
