Description
The German subsidiary Aviapartner Düsseldorf of the Belgian airport service provider Aviapartner must cease operations by 31 October 2025, affecting 300 employees. The company had filed for insolvency in June 2025 and continued its operations, but was eventually unable to find an investor.
Economic difficulties began in 2023, when Aviapartner lost its license for loading and unloading aircraft as well as baggage handling in Düsseldorf. Since then, the company has been working as a subcontractor for another ground handling provider at Düsseldorf Airport.
The Verdi union has criticised the plans. Talks with the works council about a possible reconciliation of interests and social compensation plan are expected to begin soon.
