Description
Florentaise, the French potting soil producer based in Saint-Mars-du-Désert, is launching a second employment protection plan that will result in 86 job losses. Following its placement in bankruptcy, 53 jobs were first cut in March: Florentaise 2025 - FR. In the aftermath of these redundancies, only 15 employees will remain in the production and sale of potting soil for retail and professional markets in France.
The company is refocusing its activity on the manufacture of raw materials and professional potting soils in China, where double-digit growth rates have been recorded for more than five years. The company plans to co-contract its public and professional markets with new partners and is selling selling three sites: Louresse-Rochemenier, Treffort-Cuisat and Saint-Escobille to improve its cash flow. Florentaise will retain only eight production sites in France and Europe.
