Description
Laufen CZ, a manufacturer of bathrooms and sanitary ceramics, has decided to cease production at its factory in Znojmo and to lay off 110 employees by the end of November 2025. The company plans to relocate most of the production to its Czech site in Bechyně, South Bohemia. A smaller part of production will be moved to Poland and Portugal. The main reason is the increase in production costs, energy prices and labour costs.
Dismissed employees will be paid up to 11 months' salary in severance pay based on the collective agreement.
This restructuring is a continuation of the process originally announced at the end of 2024, when 250 layoffs were planned, of which 140 employees were already dismissed in earlier waves. The current 2025 case accounts for the remaining 110 employees, whose departures were postponed to November 2025.
Laufen CZ is part of the Laufen holding, headquartered in Switzerland. Its owner has been the Spanish Roca Group since 1999.
