Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 17 October 2025, Opes Solar Mobility, a German manufacturer of solar modules for the automotive industry, has started production at its new factory in Zwenkau (Saxony) creating 120 jobs.
The company is part of the Opes Group. Opes Solutions, also part of the Opes Group, has been producing custom solar modules in Changzhou, China, since 2012. At its new site in Zwenkau, it manufactures flexible, lightweight solar modules specifically for vehicles in series production. The location of Zwenkau was chosen strategically due to its position within Europe and proximity to the clients.
The Opes Group employs a total of 500 people already.
