Description
Inventec Corporation, a Taiwan-based manufacturer of electronics and IT components, has opened its new manufacturing facility in Blučina near the city of Brno, potentially creating around 1,000 new jobs as part of its expansion in Europe.
The modern complex, covering an area of 52,000 square meters, will serve as the company's European centre, consolidating production, logistics and customer services under one roof. The project is considered strategic not only for Inventec, but also for the Czech Republic and the wider European market.
Inventec Corporation is another company following the trend of so-called nearshoring, where many Asian companies are moving production to the Central and Eastern European region. Lower costs, higher qualifications and better availability of workers, as well as the European Union's growing emphasis on local production and cybersecurity also play a role.
