Description
Stabilus, a German automotive supplier, has announced plans to cut 450 jobs worldwide.
The job reductions will mainly affect sites in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, with office and production facilities to be consolidated in Germany, the United States, Singapore, and Thailand.
The measures are part of a cost-saving programme aimed at securing long-term competitiveness. The restructuring measures, including staff reductions and site optimisation, are expected to cost €18 million in the current fiscal year but should generate annual savings of €19 million by 2027 and €32 million thereafter.Stabilus is also affected by the new US tariffs.
Stabilus employs about 7,800 worldwide. In Europe, the company has its production sites in Germany, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
