Description
AC Ajaccio, the French football club based in Corsica, has officially filed for bankruptcy before the judicial commercial court, resulting in the loss of around 180 jobs and the closure of its training center. This marks a major setback for the club, which will lose its professional status for the first time in 27 years. The financial collapse stems from a deficit of at least 13 million euros and the absence of a potential buyer. The Ajaccio club has therefore fallen and returned to an amateur level. Although the supporters has rallied together by launching a fundraising campaign, the outcome seems inevitable.
