European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Zespó Elektrowni P tnów Adamów Konin, operating in the coal mining industry, is set to reduce its workforce at the Tomis awice open-pit mine resulting in nearly 90 layoffs. Coal mining at Tomis awice will end by April next year at the most, so the workforce will be reduced from 270 to 182 by the end of the year. The laid-off employees can take advantage of a shield programme that includes, among other things, severance payments from the state budget. The Tomis awice open pit is the last active mine belonging to the Zespó Elektrowni P tnów Adamów Konin; it has been in operation for 15 years.
