Description
Hungarian transformer and electric motor manufacturer Ganz will double its transformer production capacity at its Tápiószele plant.
The expansion will generate at least 200, but potentially 300 new jobs. The recruitment of new employees has already begun. Also, the firm has established the Ganz Training Centre in Tápiószele for the new recruits.
The expansion is a response to the rising number of orders, a reflection of the worldwide shift toward electric energy. In addition to a new transformer production hall, storage and transformer testing capacities will also be upgraded. The new transformer plant is set to begin production in early 2027, with a gradual ramp-up of production over the subsequent four years.
The estimated investment cost is €50.4 million, of which €15 million has been provided by the Hungarian government as a grant.
