European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Microsoft Corporation, American multinational corporation and technology company announced that 138 persons will be dismissed by the end of 2025 in Romania. Among those affected are software engineers, project managers, and other specialists with technical roles within software engineering teams.
The company intends to offer financial compensation equivalent to half a salary for each year worked at Microsoft Romania to support the transition of those affected. Thus, an employee with two years working with Microsoft Romania will receive compensation equivalent to one salary, while an employee with eight years of service will receive four months' severance pay.
At the end of 2024, according to the latest data, the company had 1,558 employees in Romania.
