Description
The ammunition manufacturing company FMG (Fábrica de Municiones de Granada) has announced the opening of a new arms manufacturing facility in Linares (Andalusia), which will create 100 jobs before the end of the year.
The company has acquired the former military depot at Linares and plans to invest €10 million in establishing a production line that will serve as both a manufacturing extension and storage facility for its main site in Granada. The factory is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
The initiative has been announced as a key project contributing to reindustrialising the province and strengthening the defence, security, and technological innovation sectors in the region. The new facility complements broader developments such as the CETEDEX Defence Technology Centre, the newly inaugurated CEDAEC in Linares for advanced defence component manufacturing, and PERTE-linked investments in electric vehicles and digital competencies. The FMG expansion reinforces Andalusia’s growing status as a strategic hub for the national defence industry.
