European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Hella Fahrzeugteile Austria GmbH, based in Großpetersdorf (Burgenland), is a subsidiary of German automotive supplier Forvia Hella. The company specialises in lighting systems for agricultural and construction vehicles. The company has announced plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 225 positions, representing over half of its 400 employees. This decision is driven by the challenges posed by intensified competition and cost pressures in the European commercial vehicle market. Assembly operations will be progressively relocated to international sites, with the process scheduled to commence in Q4 2025 and conclude by mid-2027.

A social plan has been agreed between management, the works council and the PRO-GE union. The plan takes into account criteria such as years of service, age, dependents and family responsibilities. While the specifics remain confidential, union representatives emphasised the importance of fairness. Authorities, AMS, and Hella are collaborating to provide job placement and retraining options for affected workers.
Forvia Hella has reported a consistent increase in international revenue in 2024.
