European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Texton, a nonwovens company, is closing down its plant in Zgierz, 180 people have lost their jobs.
The closure of the company is due to increased production costs and the resulting financial problems. Employees at all levels (production staff, managerial division) received their notice of termination on 30 May. They are subject to a reduced notice period and will receive severance payments depending on their length of employment.
Texton had been operating for 33 years, producing spunbond nonwovens for sanitary products, leather goods, construction, packaging and agro-textiles used in professional agriculture and horticulture
