Description
Thales, a French electronics manufacturer, is set to hire 150 workers at its sites in Châtellerault (Vienne) and Valence (Drôme) by 2028. The company is investing 55 million euros to manufacture secure navigation solutions for the civil and military sectors. In Châtellerault, Thales aims to quadruple its sensor manufacturing. In Valence, Thales is producing a receiver and will start manufacturing anti-jamming systems in 2026. In Châtellerault, the goal is to quadruple production capacity progressively to meet growing demand.
The investment responds to growing demand for resilient and secure navigation solutions in a context of increased satellite signal jamming and spoofing. The expansion is driven by rising needs in both military operations and civil aviation safety, reflecting heightened defence and security requirements as well as technological upgrading. The project is linked to long term investment in advanced and sovereign technologies
The Group has a total workforce of 83,000 worldwide and over 800 in its two sites in Vienna and Drôme.
This expansion is a first recruitment wave as part of a recruitment campaign of 3,000 workers in France in 2025, of which 25% (750) workers will have permanent positions. In the first wave, 400 workers were hired in Limours: Thales 2025 - FR.
