European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Dutch discount retailer Action has inaugurated its first logistics centre in Spain. The platform is expected to generate approximately 440 jobs, providing a major economic boost to the local area. Located in the town of Illescas (Toledo), the new facility marks a significant milestone in its Iberian expansion strategy. The new facility will support Action’s current network of 74 stores in Spain and future growth plans in Portugal. The platform will be operated by DHL Supply Chain.
Designed with a strong focus on sustainability, the Illescas centre is the first Action site built without a gas connection and has been awarded the prestigious BREEAM Outstanding certification for new constructions, recognising its energy efficiency and environmental performance. The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Illescas, José Manuel Tofiño, who welcomed the investment and its contribution to the municipality's development. With over 1,400 employees already in Spain, Action continues to strengthen its presence in the European retail sector
