European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Safran Aero Boosters, a Belgian aeronautical and space engines manufacturer, will hire 100 workers. It recently expanded its business in Belgium by opening a new high-tech facility in Marchin. The facility will be specialised in the production of fins for aeroplanes that will be used in compressors.
Initially, the facility will be producing around 400,000 parts per year, which will, over time, be increased to 700,000 per year. The company states that it will reduce its dependency on foreign production over time by building these parts within Belgium. At the moment, 50 employees are employed, which will ultimately grow to 150 in total.
