Description
The German company Kabel Premium Pulp & Paper, based in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia) and active in the paper manufacturing sector, is ceasing operations, with all 420 employees losing their jobs.
The company filed for insolvency in March 2025 due to high losses and rising energy costs. The job cuts are the result of a lack of investor interest despite intensive efforts by the insolvency administrator. A team of 30 to 40 people will ensure the liquidation; machinery and equipment will be sold.
Planned measures include redundancies and compulsory redundancies. Negotiations on termination agreements with severance payments are ongoing, provided funds are available from the insolvency estate.
The trade union, works council and management are negotiating a reconciliation of interests and a social compensation plan; retraining and qualifications are to be offered if funds are available.
