Description
The French startup Venture Orbital Systems, specialising in the design and development of launchers for the global nano satellite market, has announced that it will move into a 25,000 m2 factory in Reims in early 2026. This new site will be dedicated to the manufacturing, assembly and internal integration of its engines, tanks and structures. It aims to create 160 jobs by 2030, including 61 management positions. In addition to this, it seeks to produce 50 Zephyr launchers per year.
The company raised €27 million in funding in early 2024 and won €15 million in France 2030 calls for projects. It has been selected as part of the "Premiere Usine" initiative led by BPI France. It regularly attends events (fairs and exhibitions) and works with stakeholders (universities and the Grand Est region) to attract new talent. In April 2025, Latitude moved to the next stage towards the launch of the Zephyr and is currently continuing its research and development work. At the end of 2024, it announced the signing of a launch agreement for life sciences missions with Atmos Space Cargo. It hopes to expand beyond its borders by marketing its launchers in Asia, the Middle East, the United States and so on.
