Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

American semiconductor company Onsemi has announced a global restructuring plan that will result in approximately 2,400 job cuts in 2025.
A part of the restructuring program, the company will cut about 170 positions in the Czech Republic Onsemi 2025-CZ. On the other hand, the company is planning a giant investment project worth almost CZK 46 billion (€ 1.8 billion). The project is also expected to be supported by incentives from the Czech government and the European Commission.
The layoffs will impact employees across all business divisions as the company adjusts operations in response to market conditions.
The company has been affected by a slowdown in the automotive sector, which accounts for nearly half of its revenue. The restructuring is expected to cost between $50 million and $60 million. Once completed, Onsemi anticipates annual savings of $105 million to $115 million.
