Description
The Finnish building material producer, Consolis Parma, is closing down three plants and ending parts of production at one plant. In total, 98 workers will be dismissed due to the closure of production. An additional 14 employees will be made redundant at the company's centralised functions. The affected factories are located in Iisalmi, Kotka, Uurainen, and Haukipudas.
Parma initiated change negotiations on 13 March 2025 that were estimated to lead to the dismissal of 139 staff. The negotiations comprised a total of 220 staff, including blue-collar and white-collar employees as well as managerial staff, and ended in mid-May 2025.
Parma stated in a press release that the economic slowdown that the construction sector is undergoing has meant that they are expecting low production going forward.
Parma is Finland's largest producer of precast concrete and employs more than 650 persons. Parma is part of the multinational Consolis group.
