Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Caisse d’Épargne Bretagne Pays de Loire, a regional French bank, is set to cut 100 jobs between 2025 and 2027. The restructuring is being driven by the growing shift toward online banking, fourteen of its agencies are being closed. Seven of these closures will take place in Brittany, affecting agencies in Guilers, Quimperlé Brémond d’Ars, Bannalec, Plonéour-Lanvern (Finistère), Bubry (Morbihan), Merdrignac (Côtes-d’Armor), and Rennes Kennedy (Ille-et-Vilaine). The first wave of job cuts will occur in 2025, affecting 52 positions within the commercial network. The remaining layoffs will be implemented gradually until 2027.
