Description
Ciserom Sebes, a Romanian producer and seller of socks announced its intention to close the plant and dismiss 99 employees. Alba Territorial Labor Inspectorate received the notification for the collective redundancy procedure which will be applied from 17 March to 15 December 2025.
Despite adapting to the needs of the market, with ecological products, some of them a first for our country, in 2023, the company had a loss of over 1.8 million lei (approx. €360,000), in 2022, a profit of over 31,500 lei (approx. €6,300), and was loss-making in 2021, 2020 and 2019.
The plant was established in 1927 by a German investor. In 1944, the company passed into state ownership, but continued to produce socks and textiles, both for Romania and for export.
By 31 December 2023, Ciserom Sebes had 157 employees.
