Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Automotive Cells Company (ACC), a manufacturer of electric vehicle batteries, is implementing a voluntary redundancy plan that will cut around 100 jobs, primarily in Bruges and Paris. The affected positions are largely in support functions, including human resources, finance, marketing, logistics, sales, and communication. This restructuring is driven by the company’s need to accelerate its production process, which requires increased financial resources. As a result, ACC is streamlining its operations to focus on production efficiency.
In 2025, the company employed more than 2,000 workers across its various sites.
