Description

Italian spirits producer Campari Group has announced that it will cut 500 positions globally, including 100 in Italy Campari 2025-IT.

The layoffs are part of restructuring plans amid difficulties following its Courvoisier acquisition. The company stated that it needs a more efficient resource allocation, as profitability has been impacted by changes in top-line performance and existing infrastructure investments. The Italian spirits maker faces challenges including declining Cognac demand in America, Chinese market restrictions, and potential US tariff impacts.

The company reported significant profit decreases in Q3 and expects continued pressure on Q4 results. Despite these challenges, Campari shares gained value after the announcement, with analysts maintaining positive outlooks on the company's recovery potential through portfolio rationalisation and cost management initiatives.

Founded in 1860, Campari Group has 22 productions sites and employs about 5,000 people worldwide. The company’s products are distributed in 190 countries.
