Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

SDV Medien Group, a German printing and media group, is ceasing operations with the loss of 213 jobs at its Dresden and Weidenberg sites.
Insolvency proceedings were opened on 28 February 2025. No further measures to save jobs are possible as all sales negotiations with potential investors have failed.
The company cites the crisis in the printing and paper industry, aggressive price competition and the insolvency of key customers. Production in Weidenberg will cease at the end of February, while orders will continue to be processed in Dresden until the end of March.
Founded in 1990, the SDV Media Group last achieved a turnover of 36 million euros and specialises in print products with a focus on dialogue marketing and omni-channel solutions.
