Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

SNCF, France’s state-owned railway company, is launching a recruitment campaign to hire 800 workers in 2025. This hiring initiative is designed to enhance transportation services and improve customer experience. Among the 800 positions available, 400 will be train and Regional Express Network (RER) conductors. Additionally, 200 client relations agents will be hired to assist passengers and ensure service quality. The company is also looking to recruit 150 maintenance technicians responsible for railway infrastructure. Furthermore, 30 production agents will be employed to oversee railway operations, while 10 engineers, developers, supervisors, or managers will be brought on board.
The year prior, SNCF hired 1,250 workers as part of its workforce expansion.
