Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Swedish weapons manufacturer Saab has announced plans to recruit more than 1,000 staff in Sweden during 2025. The company expects that the arms race will continue even if the war in Ukraine sees an end, as Europe invests in defence after a change in leadership in the United States. Saab has thus increased their growth prognosis as well as shareholder profits.
The geopolitical situation has reflected well on Saab’s stock prices in an otherwise anaemic market situation. Saab has however also been met with criticism nationally for continuing business transactions with Israeli partners despite the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Saab has approximately 24,000 employees globally and operations in over 30 countries. In Sweden, Saab has approximately 15,000 employees across 40 locations.
