European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The RATP, the French state-owned company managing public transportation, is set to hire 5,500 workers in Île-de-France in 2025. Among these, 3,800 permanent positions will be offered to sustain and expand services in and around Paris. The recruitment targets a range of profiles, including 1,600 bus conductors, 600 station staff, 420 maintenance operators, 140 security guards, and 107 ticket inspectors. Additionally, the company will provide 1,000 work-study contracts (alternance) and 500 entry-level contracts. This extensive recruitment effort follows significant investments made in preparation for the Olympic Games. These recruitments also aim at supporting the operation, safety and maintenance of infrastructure, particularly in the context of the Grand Paris Express, and the opening of line 15 South, scheduled for the summer of 2026.
Globally, RATP plans to hire 3,800 permanent full-time employees this year, with 970 in France (outside Paris), 1,080 in the United States, 370 in Italy, and 280 in Saudi Arabia.
