Description
The Swedish-Swiss group Tetra Pak has announced plans to close its Longvic (Dijon) plant, causing 207 job losses. The site, founded in 1971, has been facing a significant drop in production for several years, despite investments made to try to turn the situation around. Nonetheless, the Tetra Pak group will still maintain its other activities in France. The company stated that the production will be transferred to other sites in Europe.
The Longvic plant is a key part of the local economy, with sales reaching €26 million by 2023. It currently employs 207 people, excluding subcontractors and retailers indirectly dependent on its activity. An information and consultation process has been launched with the trade unions and social partners, and a psychosocial risk prevention unit has been set up to support employees.
Updated 29 July 2025
The management of Tetra Pak and the trade unions have negotiated an agreement on layoffs. This includes the creation of senior leave, as well as a support structure to help employees find new jobs. Employees made redundant will receive their wages for between twelve and eighteen months. However, employees are still curious about the reasons for the closure.
