Description
Polish mobile game developer Huuuge Games has announced that it plans to cut 122 jobs globally.
The majority of the job cuts will take place in Poland Huuuge Games 2025-PL, with 89 positions being eliminated, accounting for 21% of the Polish studio's workforce. The company will also restructure its operations in the Netherlands and Finland, with the shutting down of the studio, but no specific job cut figures for these countries have been provided yet.
The restructuring is part of a strategic shift to focus on social casino games, with a decision to halt new game development and close studios in both countries. The layoffs, part of a global restructuring that will cut 122 jobs globally and reduce the workforce by 28%, will be completed by February 2025. The conditions of the programme were negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations.
The decision follows the company’s efforts to streamline operations and reduce costs, aiming to allocate resources to more profitable areas. In 2023, Huuuge Games reported global revenues of $1.12 billion, with its Polish operations generating PLN 307 million in revenue.
Headquartered in Poland, Huuuge Games operates in Poland, the Netherlands, Finland, Israel, and the United States. The company employs about 430 people globally.
