European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
BoligPartner, a housing construction company based in Hamar, Norway, filed for bankruptcy April 30 2024, resulting in 129 job losses. The main factor behind the bankruptcy was reported to be difficult market conditions, with a sharp decline in the construction of new residential housing in Norway.
The company had implemented various cost-reduction initiatives in response to market challenges, but these efforts were insufficient to sustain operations.
The bankruptcy led to the termination of employment for the affected staff.
Update, 23-08-2024 Following the bankruptcy, the assets of BoligPartner were acquired by Mestergruppen, a major industry player, which retained the company's brand and restructured operations under a new entity. This takeover also entailed that a number of previous BoligPartner-employees were offered jobs in the new entity. Per august 2024, it was reported that 17 had joined the new company.
