Description
Husqvarna, a Swedish manufacturer of garden equipment and tools, has announced plans to cut 400 jobs globally, including 200 positions in Sweden Husqvarna-2024-SE .
The layoffs are part of a cost-saving programme. In Sweden, the affected roles, primarily white-collar positions, are distributed across four locations: Stockholm, Husqvarna, Söderköping, and Jonsered.
The restructuring aims to save 500 million Swedish kronor annually, with most savings realized in 2025. This decision follows a 7% drop in net sales during Q3 2024, attributed to weak consumer spending, and aligns with Husqvarna's long-term strategy to shift investments towards robotic mowers, batteries, and professional products.
The company had previously announced 1,000 job cuts in 2022 Husqvarna-2022-SE and 300 more in 2023, mostly in the US, due to market challenges.
