Description
Trasnova, an Italian logistics company working under contract for the Stellantis automotive group, announced collective redundancies for 97 workers, effective 1 January 2025. In addition to the permanent workers also a number of temporary workers will not get their contract renewed.
The decision follows the non-renewal of the subcontracting contract, which means that the company cannot resort to alternative measures to dismissal, as these are ‘structural redundancies’. The redundant workers include all the company's workers operating in Italy, namely 54 in Pomigliano, 28 in Piedimonte San Germano, 14 in Mirafiori and 1 in Melfi. For the workers in Mirafiori plant the redundancy take place from march 2025.
The trade unions are calling for a round table in the presence of the Ministry of Enterprise, together with the Stellantis group, to try to find work continuity with the contracting company.
UPDATED 10/12/2024: Following negotiations at MIMIT (Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy), Transnova workers' jobs were secured for 12 months after Stellantis renewed their service contracts at Italian plants.
