European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Global leader in water and waste management Veolia has announced that will open 2,000 jobs at its units across France.
The positions are related to the ecological transition at the company, including electro-mechanics, water network managers, and maintenance technicians.
To address staffing shortages in green transformation roles, Veolia has launched Terra Academia, a non-profit school dedicated to ecological transformation, with its first campus inaugurated in Arras, under the leadership of former French Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer. The school aims to accelerate training in green careers such as water resource management, pollution remediation, and local energy production. It supports existing public and private programs while planning to develop independent qualifications and training in collaboration with partners like EDF and Dassault Systèmes.
With a second campus set to open in Paris and plans for nationwide and international expansion within five years, Terra Academia targets training 60,000 people and raising awareness among 100,000 youth by 2030.
