Description
As announced on 14 October 2024, German automotive supplier Brose plans to cut 950 jobs worldwide by the end of 2025. The company's plants are underutilized, and the layoffs will primarily affect administrative positions at high-wage locations.
It is not yet known which locations exactly will be impacted. However, according to trade union IG Metall, 240 jobs are expected to be cut in Bamberg, Bavaria. Additionally, the sites Coburg and Würzburg could be impacted. The union is basing this information on the company meeting held in the summer of 2024.
Brose employs 32,000 people globally, including 10,000 in Germany.

On 24 December 2025, further news on Brose's job shedding plans were published. The latest news report indicate that 700 jobs will be lost in Germany by the end of 2025. According to the reports, 200 jobs will be lost in Coburg, another 200 in Bamberg and 120 positions in Würzburg.
