Description
Danish Crown is closing its Ringsted slaughterhouse, resulting in nearly 1,200 job losses, with 300 employees offered positions in Jutland. This decision is due to overcapacity and a shortage of pigs in their supply chain. The closure is part of a broader strategy to consolidate production and focus future investments. The Ringsted slaughterhouse will be closed even though Danish Crown presented a large surplus for the year. Furthermore, the layoffs is a part of Danish Crown is seeking to promote sustainability and raise the values of meat.
