Signify, a light bulb manufacturer, closed its plant in Bielsko-Biała and 128 employees lost their jobs.
Management cited the displacement of traditional light bulbs, which the plant produced, from the market in favour of LED lighting as the reason for the closure. T. A year ago, the Labour Office received information about the planned closure of the plant and was informed at the time that it would close in 2024; the plant closed on 1 October. All employees lost their jobs; the plant offered severance payments to employees depending on their length of service.
