European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
As announced on 26 September 2024, the synthetic fiber manufacturer Trevira plans to cut 210 jobs at its plant in Guben, Brandenburg, by mid-2025. The company says it will focus its operations in Italy.
The company is adjusting its production facilities in Guben to adapt to the "highly competitive market environment in the chemical fiber industry." Polyester filament yarns will no longer be produced in Guben. Instead, the site will focus on polycondensation. In the coming weeks, company and employee representatives will negotiate a social plan. A total of 550 employees work at the Guben site.
