European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Placed in compulsory liquidation last May, the women's ready-to-wear group Sedev (which owns the ‘Des marques et vous’ brand, formerly ‘Devianne’) was taken over by two competitors: Intersport via its subsidiary Blackstore and Chaussea. As regards jobs, only 143 out of 400 will be retained. Around 40 employees at the head office in Marcq-en-Barœul will not be taken over.
The court chose their bid, out of the four submitted, as it was preserving the most jobs and shops. The new buyers will keep around twenty of the 35 existing shops (Intersport will acquire 12 and Chaussea 8).
