Description
As announced on 5 September 2024, the German automotive supplier Mubea will be cutting 300 jobs by the end of 2025 due to the difficult market situation in the European automotive industry. The company hopes to be able to maintain its competitiveness and long term stability through the internal restructuring. This affects three of six sites in Germany: the company headquarters in Attendorn (North Rhine-Westphalia) as well as the plants in Daaden (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Weißensee (Thuringia). It is not yet known how many jobs will be cut at each individual site, as discussions with works councils are ongoing. Mubea has 17,000 employees worldwide, out of which 5,000 work in Germany. The company generated a turnover of 3.1 billion euros in 2023.
