Description
Beko, a home appliances manufacturer, is closing its production plants in Łódź and Wrocław, resulting in layoffs for up to 1800 employees.
The decision is part of a restructuring plan to optimise operations in response to changing market conditions and weakened demand, which have led to significant financial losses in the Polish plants over several years. The layoffs will affect production and office workers and are expected to continue until April 2025. The company assures all relevant stakeholders will be involved in discussions, including trade unions and local authorities.
Beko is a Turkish producer of household appliances, and employs over 20,000 people worldwide and operates 69 branches and 11 production plants across Europe.
