Description

The telecommunication company Telia Group will lay off almost 3000 employees in total of which 160 in Estonia to keep the growing costs under control and maintain the capacity to invest in critical infrastructure.

The head of Telia Estonia explained this redundancy with the company’s wish to restructure and transfer many roles previously held by the offshore branches back to the headquarters to ensure the efficiency of increasing client satisfaction.

The redundancy notice will be given in shortly and Telia Estonia is working closely with the Unemployment Insurance Fund and the Labour Union to ensure the smoothest transition of the previous employees.

In the second quarter of 2024, there were 1504 employees in Telia Eesti.

The current worldwide restructuring programme of Telia has been recorded in the ERM events database Telia-2024-WO.
