Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish construction company Wästbygg Group has announced that it will cut 65 jobs in Europe.
The restructuring programme will affect employees in Sweden and Denmark, where Wästbygg is to lay off 65 employees out of its 550 workforce. Under the programme, the company also plans to close its offices in Stockholm and Denmark.
The restructuring programme is due to ongoing financial losses. Despite some improvement from last year, the company reported a second-quarter operating loss of 31 million SEK (€2.7 million) in 2024.
Wästbygg Group is a Swedish real estate and construction company founded in 1981. Wästbygg operates primarily in Sweden but also has a presence in Denmark and Norway.
