Description
The Belgian shoe retailer Bristol has filed for bankruptcy for its Dutch subsidiary, resulting in the closure of 80 stores and the loss of approximately 370 jobs in the Netherlands, affecting all its retail employees across the country.
Following years of economic challenges, including the impact of COVID-19, rising energy costs, increased minimum wages, and higher rents, Bristol's Dutch operations filed for bankruptcy after a liquidation sale failed to generate sufficient revenue to cover costs and no buyer could be secured.
