Description
Dairy cooperative Tirlán is to cut 150 jobs in a round of voluntary redundancies as part of a cost saving programme designed to ensure its long term competitiveness.
Tirlán, formerly Glanbia Co-Op, is a farmer-owned dairy and grain co-operative and currently employs around 2,370 people.
Turnover at the company declined 17% to just over €2.5bn in 2023 and profits decreased 5% to €68.3m due to lower milk prices and inflationary pressures such as energy, interest rates, wages and environmental compliance.
