Description

The tyre manufacturer ContiTech, a subsidiary of Continental, announced the reduction of 642 employees in the manufacturing and production departments at its locations in Northeim and Hann: Münden (Lower Saxony), Waltershausen (Thuringia), Korbach and Oedelsheim (Hesse).

As part of the reorganisation of the tube business, a socially responsible reduction in the workforce is to take place by 2026 and redundancies for operational reasons are to be avoided. The job reduction measures include partial retirement and early retirement schemes, the use of the Group's internal labour market, the placement and further training and qualification of all employees. The last restructuring measures at ContiTech were in 2017 Contitech 2017 - DE.

The job cuts and the measures were agreed in a social partnership dialogue between ContiTechmm of the IGBCE trade union and the works council.

ContiTech is a company active in over 40 countries with more than 40,000 employees.
